Winning Chamber Groups Perform March 7 at The Fort

The winning groups of the 2020 Midwest National Chamber Music Competition will perform Saturday March 7 at 7 p.m. at the “Music At The Fort” concert series at MYAC Center at 878 Lyster Rd, in Highwood, IL.

The groups Insieme Piano Trio, Purple Hippopotami Flute Quartet, Trio Domino, Quartet Lucciola, and Trio Vento will play their winning selections from the competition.

“Jazz in January” to Feature Artist/Educator Dana Hall

Midwest Young Artists Conservatory is excited to welcome Dana Hall for this year’s Jazz in January weekend of masterclasses and performances. Mr. Hall is an American jazz drummer, percussionist, composer, bandleader, and ethnomusicologist. He is currently Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul University.

2019 Walgreens Competition Winners Announced

Over 200 exceptional young musicians from all corners of the country, competed in Midwest Young Artists Conservatory’s 2019 Walgreens National Concerto Competition from December 28 to December 30  at Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall and the MYAC Center at Fort Sheridan in Highwood, IL.

Students from elementary through 12th grades competed for more than $20,000 in scholarships and cash prizes in the MYAC Division and the Open Division, which were both further divided into the Junior Level (up to 8th grade) and the Senior Level (9th through 12th graders).

MYAC Violinist Liam Diethrich on ABC7's Windy City Live

Symphony Orchestra violinist Liam Diethrich appeared on Windy City Live on ABC7 Chicago on September 27.

Liam, a senior at Highland Park High School, is also a prolific composer and performed his original piece written for film on the broadcast. He composed the work while attending a film scoring program at NYU Steinhardt this summer. Liam appeared onstage with fellow musician, Josh Mhoon, a pianist and student at Merit School of Music.
