“Jazz in January” to Feature Artist/Educator Dana Hall

Midwest Young Artists Conservatory is excited to welcome Dana Hall for this year’s Jazz in January weekend of masterclasses and performances. Mr. Hall is an American jazz drummer, percussionist, composer, bandleader, and ethnomusicologist. He is currently Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul University. 

MYAC’s annual Jazz in January weekend offers its Jazz Program students the unique opportunity to be taught by leading jazz musicians in multi-age masterclasses and combo coachings, culminating in performances on stage together. 

  • This year’s event begins with masterclasses and coachings, open to the public to observe, on Saturday Jan. 25 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the MYAC Center at 878 Lyster Rd. at Fort Sheridan in Highwood, IL. 

  • A concert will take place the following evening at 210Live at 210 Green Bay Rd. in Highwood, IL at 4:00 p.m., wherein Mr. Hall will perform with and lead MYAC’s Jazz Big Bands on stage.
