The Golden Trio Wins First at the Charleston Competition

Sofia Radovic on violin, Ian King on bass, and Miriam Kessler on piano and harp recently placed first at the Charleston Competition’s 2022 Spring Music Competition. All three are members of MYAC’s Symphony Orchestra. The group is coached by Lyudmilla Lakisova at MYAC each Saturday. The players travel from distant Chicago suburbs for weekly coachings at Fort Sheridan.

For this year’s competition the trio performed Astor Piazzola’s Invierno Porteño (winter in Buenos Aires) from his Four Seasons. The instrumentation (including a change from piano to harp by Miriam) brings the depth of the harmonies and passion of the rhythms to life. You can check out their recording here!
