MYAC Welcomes New Accounting Manager

MYAC welcomes Lisa Schwartz, an experienced accounting professional, to its staff. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and previously worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at CNA Insurance and currently works part-time for Balmoral Advisors. Prior to joining Balmoral Advisors in 2019, Lisa was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters.

How and when did you first hear about MYAC? 

I heard about MYAC through my boss at Balmoral Advisors where I work part time. His wife, Jean works at MYAC and their children go there.

What is one thing about MYAC that initially impressed you?

I could immediately feel the family environment at MYAC and how much everyone loves their jobs and working with the students.

What is your favorite thing about your role here? 

I enjoy working with everyone and learning all about the different programs offered at MYAC.

What is your professional background, and how do you bring that experience to your role here? 

I have an accounting degree and do all of the day to day accounting and monthly reporting for MYAC. I feel that my prior accounting experience has enabled me to help MYAC with their accounting needs.

What is one thing you’ve learned about MYAC after you started working here?

I have learned more about non-profit accounting and all of the different music opportunities offered at MYAC.
