MYAC Welcomes Back Alum for Marketing Position

MYAC is excited to welcome Nina Badagliacco as a full-time Marketing Assistant! Nina recently earned her Bachelor’s in violin performance from Lake Forest College and plans to pursue a master’s degree in the next few years. Prior to graduating, Nina served as an intern at MYAC during her final year of undergrad. Nina has studied the violin for over 14 years and is extremely grateful for all of the opportunities that MYAC has offered her both when she was a student and now as an employee. Nina is also a full-time member of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra and studies privately with violinist Kate Carter in her studio at Northwestern University.

How and when did you first hear about MYAC?

I was a member of CYSO my first two years of high school when my mom had discovered MYAC online. I was ready for something new, so I took a chance and decided to audition! I loved spending my last two years of high school in the orchestra program at MYA; many of the Symphony Orchestra concerts we performed were ones I’ll never forget.

What is one thing about MYAC that initially impressed you?

I have always been really impressed with MYAC since joining as a member back in high school. From the incredibly talented students and faculty, to the warm and welcoming environment were so inspiring to experience. As a current employee, I am still equally impressed to witness these ideas continue in the office. Everyone is extremely kind, respectful, and passionate in their work here.

What is your favorite thing about your role here?

My favorite part about my role here at MYA is having the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented and hard-working musicians I’ve ever met. I feel extremely lucky each day, and I am so happy to be included in something so beneficial to students and families.

What is your professional background, and how do you bring that experience to your role here?

I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue music as a career. I never imagined to be in a marketing position, however I believe my experience in music has aided in my office skills immensely. Music taught me perseverance, diligence, and the importance of teamwork in everything that I do. I have learned so much during my time as an intern, and I am so excited to continue learning more as a Marketing Assistant!

What is one thing you’ve learned about MYAC after you started working here?

I had already known a lot about MYAC prior to working in the office. I believe that my time here has only reinforced my knowledge that every single faculty, staff, director and volunteer truly cares for the students in our programs. I feel proud to be part of an organization that wants to selflessly give back so much to a community and its students through musical excellence.
