All prospective and returning members of Midwest Young Artists’ outstanding children’s choir, Voices Rising, are encouraged to attend the ‘Choral Kickoff’ Mini-Camp, held at the MYA Center at Ft. Sheridan, August 11 (voice checks - arranged individually) and August 12-15, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
It will be a great way to get to know members of the group before the year officially begins! There will be fun, but challenging, sessions in vocal techniques, musicianship, choreography, and stage presence. There will also be choral rehearsals to get a jump-start on Voices Rising music for the fall!
The mini-camp is open to all interested singers, fifth through eighth grades, as of Fall 2008. There is no cost for Voices Rising members who register and pay their fall tuition.
For unregistered students, the cost to attend the mini-camp
is $100 (which will apply towards audition and tuition fees if the attendee registers for Voices Rising in the fall).
