Who helped you prepare for the competition?
Going into the competition, I wasn't trying to win, I just wanted to do my best and have the experience of preparing and performing a piece. Whenever I go into a competition, I look at it as a chance to get feedback from excellent judges, and as a goal that motivates me to practice and work hard.

Were you nervous for the competition?
Yes, but not to the point where it hindered my playing. I usually get myself very worked up in the days and weeks leading up to a competition or performance, but when I actually play, all the stress goes away.

What is your advice for participants in the 15th Annual Walgreens Concerto Competition?
Never stop practicing. There will be some days when it seems as if everything you have been practicing isn't there anymore, but don't give up then. Even on days when it seems like nothing is going well, it is always worth it to keep practicing.
